Adobe Firefly prompt guide
Firefly Image 5 is Adobe's newest model (photoreal, native 4MP, one image per run); Image 4/4 Ultra and partner models (GPT Image, Nano Banana, FLUX) are selectable. Style, effects, content type and aspect ratio are UI controls, not prompt syntax.
How to prompt Adobe Firefly
- Write a natural descriptive sentence of at least three words; skip command words like 'generate' or 'create'.
- Lead with the image type (photo, illustration, 3D render, magazine-style), then the subject and its distinguishing details.
- Add action, angle, lighting, background, colour palette and style, in that order.
- For photos, use photographer language: lens focal length, aperture, depth of field, light direction.
- Describe composition and placement explicitly ('subject in the left third, empty sky on the right'); hex colour codes are understood.
- Include emotional tone words (gentle, powerful, uplifting) to steer mood.
- Balance detail: rich enough to be specific but not overloaded with competing ideas.
- Keep text short and quoted; choose a partner model such as GPT Image when legible text is critical.
- Use generic descriptions instead of brand names, logos, copyrighted characters or real people, which are blocked or weaken results.
- Leave aspect ratio, content type and style to the settings panel and mention them separately to the user.

Request a cozy coffee shop poster for autumn
Vintage screen-printed illustration of a small corner coffee shop on a rainy autumn evening, a steaming ceramic mug of spiced latte on a wooden window ledge in the foreground, maple leaves drifting past tall windows glowing with warm amber light, quiet empty street behind, eye-level framing with open space at the top, palette of burnt orange, mustard yellow and deep teal, visible paper grain, cozy and inviting mood
