The claim
Charge businesses to set up and train staff on AI tools.
AI consulting and 'orchestrator' language is prominent in 2026 platform reports and earnings calls.
How we checked
This is an evidence check, not a hands-on test. We reviewed platform rules and policies, published earnings data, regulator warnings and reporting: 3 sources, listed below.
Costs
- Start-up cost
- £0–£50/month
- Effort
- high
What the evidence shows
Many firms use AI only superficially and lack an AI plan, and Upwork says AI strategy and consulting spending is growing fastest. But buyers want people who know their industry, so this works best for those with real sector experience and is hard for a newcomer with nothing to show.
Realistic earnings: Someone with existing industry experience may win occasional £300–£1,500 sessions; generalist beginners rarely get paid work.
Limitations
Earnings ranges are typical outcomes for a beginner, drawn from the sources; some people do far better or worse. Platform rules change often, so check the latest policy before you start.
Works for some, not most.
