The claim
Clone your voice on ElevenLabs and earn passive income every time someone uses it.
ElevenLabs promoted its $22 million creator payout milestone in 2026, and voice-cloning income is a common online pitch.
How we checked
This is an evidence check, not a hands-on test. We reviewed platform rules and policies, published earnings data, regulator warnings and reporting: 2 sources, listed below.
Costs
- Start-up cost
- $22 for at least one month of the Creator plan
- Effort
- low
What the evidence shows
ElevenLabs does pay people whose cloned voices are used, but the default rate is about $0.03 per 1,000 characters — roughly $0.27 for a 10-minute script. Voices with ElevenLabs' HQ status can request up to $0.20 per 1,000 characters. ElevenLabs says creators have earned over $22 million in total, with 10,400+ creators earning, but it publishes no typical or average figure. You need the Creator plan ($22/month) to make a professional clone, plus an on-camera ownership check.
Realistic earnings: Earnings depend entirely on whether other users pick your voice; at base rates it takes very heavy use to add up. All the figures come from ElevenLabs itself, and it does not publish typical earnings.
Limitations
Earnings ranges are typical outcomes for a beginner, drawn from the sources; some people do far better or worse. Platform rules change often, so check the latest policy before you start.
