What the evidence shows
OpenAI's promised GPT Store revenue share never went beyond a small, invite-only US pilot. The ChatGPT app directory launched in December 2025 initially allowed only links out for physical goods, with no selling of subscriptions or digital goods. Paid agent marketplaces such as Salesforce AgentExchange are aimed at established software vendors, so the money is in client work, not marketplace listings.
