The claim

Run an AI node like Grass and earn crypto just for sharing your internet.

DePIN 'node' apps such as Grass are heavily promoted in crypto communities, with reward disappointment widely discussed.

How we checked

This is an evidence check, not a hands-on test. We reviewed platform rules and policies, published earnings data, regulator warnings and reporting: 4 sources, listed below.

What the evidence shows

Grass does reward people with tokens for sharing unused bandwidth, but many have been left disappointed. Grass says more than 2 million users have received rewards. Exchange Bitrue reported that most participants' Stage 2 payouts were under $1 to about $10–15, with users sharing reward checkers showing $4, $7 or $12 after long periods of uptime. The token price is volatile — it fell 28% after the airdrop before rebounding — and the FCA has warned that crypto buyers should be prepared to lose all the money they invest.

Realistic earnings: Expect small, unpredictable token rewards whose value depends on the crypto market, not a reliable income.

Limitations

Earnings ranges are typical outcomes for a beginner, drawn from the sources; some people do far better or worse. Platform rules change often, so check the latest policy before you start.
