The claim

Make Notion or Canva templates with AI and sell them on autopilot..

An evergreen side hustle with steady 'is it still profitable?' content, but no major 2026 news spike.

How we checked

This is an evidence check, not a hands-on test. We reviewed platform rules and policies, published earnings data, regulator warnings and reporting: 3 sources, listed below.

What the evidence shows

Generic planners and productivity templates are heavily oversupplied, but templates for a specific profession still face little competition, and sellers who build traffic over months do earn. Canva's January 2026 contributor agreement bans AI-generated content in its own marketplace, so AI can help but cannot be the product there. Notion's marketplace takes 8% plus 40c per sale, which is fair, but finding buyers is up to you.

Realistic earnings: Generic templates: £0–£50 in year one. Niche, well-marketed templates: perhaps £50–£300/month after 6–12 months of steady work.

Limitations

Earnings ranges are typical outcomes for a beginner, drawn from the sources; some people do far better or worse. Platform rules change often, so check the latest policy before you start.

VerdictWorks with limits

Works for some, not most.
